Nikki & Casey September 2008

I met with Nikki and Casey in May of 2008 and immediately knew this was going to be a fantastic wedding.  The couple knew they were going to be married in September at the Franklin Park Conservatory.  This would be the first wedding ever shot in the brand new "Brides Garden".  There is simply not a more beautiful place in Columbus to shoot a wedding.  At our first meeting Casey had me laughing right off the bat and Nikki was the perfect compliment to his antics.  I knew this was going to be one fun day with this couple!

This is great shot of Nikki and her girls getting her ready.  I especially love her little girl looking on in the background.  They had matching dresses that were so cute!

Some little details.

While I was shooting Nikki my assistant got this great shot of her little girl looking down on us.  Way to go Chris for getting such an awesome shot!

Here is a great one of Casey that I took in between gasps for air.  It was really hard to shoot such a funny guy!  He had us laughing so hard I swear there was tears in our eyes!

The kiss

After the ceremony we shot Nikki and Casey together.  They couldn't have been any more laid back and relaxed which always makes for great photos.

I love love love this picture of Casey giving his Grandma a smooch during the reception!

Congratulations Nikki & Casey!

Jamie & Matt August 2008

I first met Jamie years ago when we worked together at a local office here in Columbus.  I was just starting to shoot weddings on my own and she told me that when she got married I'd be the first one she called to photograph her wedding.  Well Jamie is a woman of her word!  She and Matt had moved to Oregon and gotten married in an intimate ceremony in the woods but they wanted to have a wedding in Ohio for all their friends and family to take part in.  So it was off to Wooster to photograph their wedding at the Quailcrest Farm!

Although it was extremely hot in the little house where Jamie got ready, you would never know by looking at this photo of her.  She was cool, calm and stunning the entire time.

We came across this little shed on the grounds and thought it would be a perfect place to shoot some pictures of Matt.  Sure enough this shady spot made for an awesome backdrop.

I love this shot of Jamie and her father "coming down the isle".   We watched them walking across the huge lawn towards Matt and their families.  It is just a perfect frozen moment.

After the ceremony we took Jamie and Matt under a huge weeping willow tree just down from the ceremony site.  These two were just so easy to photograph.  They are truly a perfect match for one another and it shows in every picture we took of them.

Jamie and Matt had  a little down-time during cocktail hour and really wanted to spend it together.   I love this picture of Jamie sitting by the window barefoot.  It really captures her perfectly.

The reception was in a restored barn on the property.  It was so intimate and lovely.  Jamie and Matt hired a local band from Columbus to play, the New Basics Brass Band.  They made sure that everyone had a great time dancing the night away.

Congratulations Jamie & Matt!

Lisa & Craig July 2008

In July of 2008 we attended the lovely wedding of Lisa & Craig.  I met with this couple in September of 2007 and they already had a great wedding in the making.  I was so excited to shoot their ceremony in Frank Fetch Park in German Village.  It is a great little hidden spot that was absolutely gorgeous!

Lisa and Craig both got ready at the Weston on High Street.  It was a typical hot July day so we decided to take some pictures at the Weston before the ceremony started and before we all started to melt!  Here are some of the great shots we got in the lobby and bar at the Weston.

I love this picture of Lisa strutting her stuff down High Street.  It didn't take much convincing for me to get Lisa to "give me some sass"

It was great shooting Craig and his friends and family.  Everyone was so nice and excited for this day.

We decided that we had enough of the "formal stuff" and it was time to get some pictures in the bar.  These are great and have a real "Good-Fellas feel".  I think Craig had to be the most relaxed groom we have shot to date!

The ceremony in Frank Fetch Park

After the ceremony we got some lovely pictures of Craig and Lisa together in German Village.  They were so easy and great to photograph!

The reception was just a few feet away at Lindey's in German Village.  We had to get a picture outside of the historic doors!

The reception was held in the upstairs of Lindeys.  It was a small occasion but big on fun!  There was great food, drinks and of course cake.

Congratulations Lisa & Craig!

Kelly & Ryan Engagement Session October 07'

In October of 2007 I had the pleasure of photographing a great friends little sister and her fiances engagement session.  Kelly and Ryan wanted to capture the awesome colors of that fall day so we picked the perfect spot, Inniswood Metro Gardens, for our backdrop.  It was such a beautiful day that it was impossible not to capture great photos of this fun couple.

This photo is one of my favorites from the day.  Even though its a black and white I think it really still screams fall, not to mention a great shot of a sweet kiss!

I love it when a couple relaxes and forgets I'm there!  Nothing makes for a better photograph.

Kelly and Ryan got married this summer on the beach in North Carolina and are expecting a little one in March!  Congratulations guys!
