Every year we choose a charity to donate a portion of every sale to and this years charity is the Lewy Body Dementia Association. This year's charity is near and dear to my heart. In 2008 my Uncle Ronnie (aka Uncle Boogie to our family!) lost his battle with Lewy Body Dementia. At the time there was very little information we could find about this disease but now I am so happy to find not only a wonderful website but support groups all over of the country for people who are suffering and people who are caregivers to this disease. Ronnie fought a very hard battle with courage and dignity and he is missed every day by our family. Every penny that is donated is a penny closer to finding a cure for this disease. Below are just a few of my favorite photos of my Uncle Ronnie through the years!
This photo is of my Uncle and my Dad playing on their bike. Ronnie is the cute little guy steering the bike and my Dad is holding on tight for what I am sure was a wild ride!
This is my favorite photo of my Uncle and it sits proudly in my living room. He loved being outside and the ocean was a huge part of his life. I can just hear his laugh every time I look at his photo.
Any one who had the chance to know my Uncle knew his love for the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing and spent just about every free minute he had doing what he loved! Check out this great flounder catch! I'm sure it was a feast that night!
I sure this was a proud moment for Uncle Ronnie. All his geese lined up in a row (if you knew him you would know how neat and organized he was, even with his catch!)
This photo is one I took of my all of my Uncles and my Dad on Christmas. There really is no bond as special as the bond between siblings! I am thankful to have such a great family and to have had my Uncle Ronnie in my life every day.
